Entitlement

Romans 6:1-2
‘What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound?
Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it? ‘

I thank God for Grace every day!! Mainly because, I need grace every day…
And if you will be honest with yourself and others, you will realize you need His Amazing Grace too!
Here lies our dilemma… Since grace is given, not earned, we must be very careful not to find ourselves feeling “entitled”… I believe this is what The Apostle Paul was dealing with in this letter.
Entitlement gives us the false impression that we can do anything, get away with anything, and unconditionally be forgiven, without even feeling remorse. After all, He will just forgive us, right?
In reality, as a Christian, the actions of your life should demonstrate your love and gratitude towards Jesus, not only because He died for you, but because He saved you from your sin. You were made new!
His grace should make us feel blessed, not entitled…
The song “Holy Water” by We The Kingdom say it best;

I don’t wanna abuse your grace

God, I need it every dayIt’s the only thing that ever really makes me wanna change”
Remember, His grace is sufficient for any issue in your life… Do you want to change?
Jesus is able, willing, and ready, to step in today and give you a brand new life and a wonderful future.
If you find yourself feeling a little guilty of being an entitled Christian, He loves you enough to give you grace for that too…
Take time today to reflect on your life, remember that through Christ, you are dead to sin, and you can walk through this life in freedom!
Blessings,
PD
